Storyteller, lyricist and filmmaker Neelesh Misra has released Zindagi 1.0 today — a new song from his mini feature film Kood, now out on his official YouTube channels- Slow Music by Neelesh Misra and Neelesh Misra. Written, composed and sung by Misra, it is the second release from his second album as a singer. The song is part of our first mini feature film Kood, produced by Slow Motion Pictures — the films vertical of The Slow Movement — directed by Misra, who also plays the lead role alongside actor Ketaki Kulkarni.

The lyrics hold the kind of weight that does not shout.

"धुंधले धुंधले आकाशों में, मेरे मन का पंछी चला गया" — a bird of the mind disappearing into hazy skies, not once looking back. What remains is an empty cage and a strange, homeless freedom. The song's chorus arrives like a quiet admission: ज़िंदगी चलते चलते थक गई है. Life has grown tired of walking.

It does not dramatise this exhaustion. It simply names it — the empty rooms of the heart, the hopelessness that lives there uninvited, the voice you try not to hear but that speaks to you anyway. There is a searching quality to the lyrics — for someone lost, for a feeling that once felt like home — and somewhere in that stillness, a strange tenderness emerges.

Zindagi 1.0 lives in the same emotional world as Kood — a film not about death, but about what happens just before it passes you by. Set across a single winter day, the film follows two strangers who meet on a bridge at the edge of a city, each carrying a private decision. Over the course of one day, something shifts between them. Not hope exactly. But the quiet possibility of being seen.

For Misra — whose songwriting has given Hindi cinema some of its most enduring moments, from Banjaara and Zindagi from Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai — this song feels more personal than most. It does not perform pain. It sits with it.

Kood is available on Neelesh Misra's official YouTube channel. Zindagi 1.0 is the second song from the film.

ज़िंदगी चलते चलते थक गई है — and yet, somehow, it keeps going.
