Manu Upadhyay is an independent artist and filmmaker from Uttar Pradesh, India. She holds a Master’s degree in Painting and works across painting and documentary film. Her practice explores women and the spaces they inhabit, questioning social boundaries shaping their lives. She began documentary filmmaking to give movement and voice to her painted stories. Alongside her practice, she works as an Art director and Production designer, and has been part of Docustan, PSBT Doc Commune 2025, and Docedge 2026.
