Manoj Bajpayee is an Indian film actor. He has also done Telugu and Tamil language films. Manoj Bajpayee recently acted in \”The Family Man\” most popular amazon prime web series. In 1994 Govind Nihalani\’s Drohkaal and in the biographical drama Bandit Queen (1994). He has done television serial called Kalakaar. In 1995 Mahesh Bhatt offered him the soap opera Swabhimaan. He appeared in minor roles in films such as Dastak (1996) and Tamanna(1997).
In 1998 film Satya (1998), gave Manoj a major breakthrough. His gangster act was such a hit with the public that fans call him Bhikhu Mhatre till date. In 1999 he acted in films Kaun and Shool. Kaun was a flop. He was appreciated for his acting in Shool. He also acted in the Telugu romantic film Prema Katha (1999).
In the year 2000 he did a comedy film Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! and Ghaath. Bajpayee\’s first release in 2001 was Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra\’s supernatural thriller Aks. He then acted in film Zubeidaa. Bajpayee\’s sole release of 2002 was Road. In the year 2003, he acted in Pinjar (2003). He received the National Film Special Jury Award for his performance in the film. He subsequently portrayed Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav in film LOC Kargil. After that, he acted in Jaago (2004), Veer Zaara (2004), Bewafaa (2005), 1971 (2007), Swami, Dus Kahaniyaan, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai (2008), Jugaad (2009), Acid Factory (2009), Jail (2009), Raajneeti (2010), Vedam (2010), Puli (2010), Dus Tola (2010), Aarakshan (2011), Lanka (2011).
In 2012, Bajpayee appeared in Anurag Kashyap\’s two-part crime film Gangs of Wasseypur. His next film was the historical drama Chittagong (2012). In 2013, Bajpayee had five releases: Samar, Special 26, Shootout at Wadala, Satyagraha. Bajpayee then provided the voice of Yudhishthira for Mahabharat, a 3D animation film. In 2014, Bajpayee played the antagonist in the Tamil action film Anjaan.
His next films were Tevar (2015), Patriotic-themed short film Jai Hind, Short film titled Taandav (2016), Aligarh, Traffic (2016), Budhia Singh – Born to Run, Saat Uchakkey (2016) and the short film Ouch, Naam Shabana, Sarkar 3, Rukh, Aiyaary, Baaghi 2.
After this Bajpayee acted and made his debut as a producer with the psychological thriller Missing, co-starring Tabu. The film mostly received negative review from critics. He then acted in Satyameva Jayate (2018), Gali Guleiyan, Love Sonia, Sonchiriya. His next films were Tevar (2015), Patriotic-themed short film Jai Hind, Short film titled Taandav (2016), Aligarh, Traffic (2016), Budhia Singh – Born to Run, Saat Uchakkey (2016) and the short film Ouch, Naam Shabana, Sarkar 3, Rukh, Aiyaary, Baaghi 2, Satyameva Jayate (2018), Gali Guleiyan, Love Sonia, Sonchiriya. A man who redefined performances in Hindi cinema with “Satya”. Also a brilliant human being!
