This week was truly special. I was honoured at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, and it meant a lot. Dr. Pramod P Sawant, the Chief Minister, felicitated me, and it was a humbling experience.
My daughter Vaidehi was with me. You might wonder why I took my daughter to an official event. Well, I feel that children should be exposed to all kinds of experiences, especially if they are inclined towards those things. Vaidehi has been inclined towards creativity since her childhood though I feel she needs to start learning from the right teachers. I shall do my bit at introducing her to storytelling!
I picked her from school, and she was overjoyed at her dad getting this recognition. Actor Ayushman Khurrana was there too — he is anyway a wonderful person and I know him from before, but Vaidehi kept getting shocked that I kept meeting so many friends at the event! Ayushmann said some really kind words about me from stage, and I am grateful for those. Vaidehi was thrilled, and that made the moment even more special for me. She later said she \”was so proud!\”
Oh, and when they interviewed me on Doordarshan, Vaidehi was also invited to speak! Her first moment on national television. It was heartwarming to share all this with her by my side. Grateful for these simple joys.
